Hello and welcome fellow alumni and visitors to Tarpon Tales! This site is dedicated to capturing and sharing the rich history of South Lafourche High School located in Galliano, Louisiana.

UPDATES TO THE SITE: May 25, 2025

  • Athletics - Basketball - (Work in Progress) - Started to add basketball team photos.

  • SLHS Yearbooks - Added 2022, 2023 and 2024 to the site.

  • Lagniappe - Added Coach Rene Leblanc LCO HS Scrapbook Photos and Newspaper articles.

  • Lagniappe - Added video of the 1960 Class A Basketball Championship - LCO HS vs St. Matthews

  • Athletics - Added Boys Track & Field Records for Meters and Yards; pending mile and 2 mile records. Also added Girls Track & Field Records for Meters. Freshman Boys and Girls Records are now complete..

  • School / Faculty & Staff  - Compiled a list of every teacher and staff member from all 58 yearbooks. Not every yearbook listed the subject taught. N/A means "Not Available". Please submit a correction on the contact form at the bottom of the page.

  • In Memoriam - Listing of deceased alumni. If you want a deceased alumni listed, or provide missing information, send me their information on the contact link at the bottom of the page.

  • Reunions - Any alumni who are planning a reunion or get-together, send me the information to be posted

  • Class Photos - New menu item. If you have a class reunion group photo and want it included, email me a copy at the email below.

This is the current status of my research and items that are need.
 

 I AM IN NEED OF LCO YEARBOOKS FOR 1954, 1955, 1959, 1960, 1961 TO SCAN.

  • Athletics - I have several alumni working on this information especially school records in each sport. I scanned all of the football team group pictures except for 1968-69, 1986-87 and 1989-90 which have no group photo in the yearbook. The majority of the football group photos are poor quality, so if anyone has other group photos, that would help. The All-District football teams date back to 2018 on the internet. If a player was selected as All-District, email me and i will enter the names on the team information.
